Dorothy Dean Smith, 78, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm today at Pine Bluff Baptist Church. Services will be 11am Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Pine Bluff Baptist Church with burial in Pine Bluff Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements. Mrs. Smith was a native of McCall Creek. She had lived in Copiah County all of her adult life. She worked for Sanderson Farms for 25 years as a grader. She was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church. She has participated in the Glory Choir at Hazlehurst First Baptist Church for 10 years. She loved quilting and being with her grandchildren. She is survived by sons, Tommy Ray Smith and wife Kathleen and Ricky Glen Smith and wife Becky all of Crystal Springs; daughters, Joan Elaine White and husband Mitchell of Crystal Springs and Charlene Jasper and husband, Dude of Crystal Springs; twin sister, Dora Jean Case of McCall Creek; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Amanda, Danna, Casey, Linsey, Christi, Dennis, and Austin; six great grandchildren, Gage, Emily, Clay, Kaylen, Preston, and Landon; four step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
