Three Hutchinson county residents were killed and five others were injured as a result of three separate automobile accidents Sunday. Dead are Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Bivens, 410 W. Sixth, who died following a collision between their car and a truck about 9:20 p.m., 23 miles north of Borger, and Mrs. Jimmie Word Loudermilk, 42, 408 S. McGee, who was pronounced dead on arrival at the Goodall Hospital in Memphis, Tex., following a collision one mile west of Hedley, Texas. According to the officer's report, the Bivens 1951 Dodge sedan hit the rear of a cattle truck driven by Jimmy Joyel Holloway, Amarillo. The truck was stopped on the highway due to a motor failure. A witness said Holloway jumped from his truck and ran down the highway with a flashlight trying to flag down the oncoming Bivens car. Mr. Bivens, 42, is survived by one son, Charles Scott Bivens, 12, of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, L.B. Leard, Lawton, Okla., and A.W. Leard, Oklahoma City. Mrs. Anna Belle Bivens, 27, is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mongold, Plainview; two brothers, Robert Coker, Plainview and W.C. Coker, Camp Ervin, Calif. Funeral arrangements for the Bivens are pending, with the bodies resting at the Minton Funeral Home. Sixth, who were fatally injured in a car crash Sunday night. Rev. Jeff Moore, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate. The services will be held in the chapel of the Minton Funeral Home. Following the services here, the bodies will be taken overland to Plainview, where final rites will be held in the First Presbyterian Church there at 4 p.m. tomorrow. Injured were two daughters of Mrs. Loudermilk, Anita and June Kay, and another passenger in the Loudermilk car, Miss Zan Bennett, 408 S. McGee. Lewis Dean Williams, 18, Stinnett, and Jerry Massingale, 18, Phillips, also were injured 22 miles north of Amarillo in a head-on collision. Held in the Potter County jail is Arthur L. Wood, Rt Two, Happy, who was charged with being a public drunk following the collision north of Amarillo. Wood was the driver of the other car involved in the accident. State highway patrol officers R.B. Henley and R.W. Howie made the investigation of the accident which claimed the lives of the Bivens. According to the officer's report, the Bivens 1951 Dodge sedan hit the rear of a cattle truck driven by Jimmy Joyel Holloway, Amarillo. The truck was stopped on the highway, due to a motor failure. A witness said Holloway jumped from his truck and ran down the highway with a flashlight trying to flag down the oncoming Bivens car. Damage to the trailer was confined to the rear end, where the wheels were knocked out from under the trailer. No cattle were injured in the collision. The Bivens car was considered a total loss. The truck is owned by Andy Taylor, Amarillo. ------ Mr. Bivens, 42, is survived by one son, Charles Scott Bivens, 12, of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, L.B. Leard, Lawton, Okla., and A.W. Leard, Oklahoma City. Mrs. Anna Belle Bivens, 27, is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mongold, Plainview; two brothers, Robert Coker, Plainview and W.C. Coker, Camp Ervin, Calif.
