Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Christina Tomanek; daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Crain; sons, George P. Tomanek, John R. Tomanek, all of Houston; sisters, Mrs. Frances Mutina of Bellville, Mrs. Rosalie Jochec of East Bernard, Mrs. Agnes Horlick [Horelica] of Houston; 14 grandchildren. Jul 1866, Czechoslovakia) and Mathilda (Kovar) Tomanek, (b. Oct 1867, Czechoslovakia) who were married 8 Nov 1892 in Fayette County, Texas. The family was listed in the 1900 census of Austin County, Texas, John and Mathilda with children, Joseph, Franciska, Rosalie and John. In 1930 John Tomanek, b. 1866, was listed as a widower in Fort Bend County, Texas, living with daughter Rosalie Jochec and her husband, Frank Jochec. In 1940 John Tomanek., b. 1867, was listed as a lodger in Lavaca County, Texas. On 23 Jan 1948, a man named John Tomanek, b. 1866, died of natural causes in West, McLennan County, Texas, and his body was removed to Waco on 31 Jan 1948 by the Bolger-Haney Funeral Home. No obituary found for him.
