Bio

ALMA FRIESEN Feb. 23, 1916 - Jan. 24, 2010 DALLAS - Alma Friesen, daughter of John D. and Anna Rempel Friesen was born on February 23, 1916 in Henderson, Nebraska. Her mother passed away when Alma was 8 years old, so dad raised his 6 children alone. She received her elementary education in the country school near her home. Upon confession of her faith in Jesus Christ, she was baptized by her uncle, the Reverend Abraham W. Friesen and received as a member in the Bethesada Mennonite Church. On September 11, 1941 she went to Paso Robles, Calif. There she married Klaus Frank Friesen on September 21, 1941, by the Reverend C. Hege. They moved to Camarillo, Calif. and lived on a range for a year. They left Calif. and moved to Dallas, Ore. on January 20, 1944. She joined the Grace Mennonite Church there on February 23, 1947. She helped teach the beginners Sunday School class for several years. She worked in the prune packing industry for several years. She also worked at Jefferson Manor for 5 1/2 years. Her husband, KLAUS, passed away on June 13, 1991. She enjoyed embroidery work and baking bread for her children and neighbors. She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Gloria and Stan Klimczak and Violet and Bill Fink; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; along with sister, Malita Ehlers. She was preceded in death by grandson, Kevin Fink. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 28 in Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27 in here as well. Interment will be in Dallas Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Community Church.
