Bio

Lorene Evelyn Steffek, 74 of Jarrell, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2010. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 6:0PM to 8:00PM with a Rosary/Wake service to be held at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Corn Hill, Texas. Internment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Lorene was born April 16, 1935 in Friendship, Texas to the late Joseph and Frances Mayer Kopecky. Lorene attended school in Friendship. She has been a longtime member of the KJZT and a 37 year member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Lorene married Albin Steffek on May 18, 1954. Albin precedes her in death along with her parents; daughter, Beverly Steffek Miller; brother, Arnold Kopecky; and sister, Helen Kopecky. Lorene enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing and gardening. Her yard and garden was admired by many in the community, often neighbors would stop at her house to tell "MoMo" that her garden and yard were so beautiful. Lorene loved to sew for her grandchildren; they will have many memories to cherish of her sewing for them. Lorene leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children, Shirley Klepac and husband Jerry of Schwertner, Peggy Steffek of Hewitt, Jerry Steffek of Jarrell, Diane McCall of Hewitt, and Patricia Steffek of Georgetown; 9 Grandchildren, Daniel Klepac and his wife Laurie of Jarrell, Jennifer Blackman of Saginaw, Patrick Klepac and his wife Sarah of Schwertner, Misty Kiblinger of Conroe, Christopher Miller and his wife Gayle of Okinawa, Japan, Travis Hubble of Temple, Amandalan McCall, Emaleigh McCall, Mason McCall all of Hewitt; 11 Great Grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Victor Kopecky of Willington, NC and Edward Kopecky and his wife Doris of Alba; along with many other loving family members and friends. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Lorene will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Every Sunday her kitchen would be full of family and friends because she was known for her cooking and her kolaches.
