His mother was Biddy Mariah Crook born 8 Dec 1823 in Chester County, South Carolina and died 9 Aug 1920 in Wedowee, Randolph County, Alabama. Civil War Veteran - Co. K, 9th Mississippi Regiment, Cavalry organized in Randolph Co., Alabama. He served from 1863 - 1865.
