Born in Kozlany Village, Konesin Parish, Trebitsch District, South Moravia, Austrian Empire. Unknown Date & Newspaper. Obituary given to me by Mary (Shelly) Kubicek-passed on from Ivan Travnicek. Grandson of Mary (Kubicek) Travnicek April 1, 2018 Died on Thursday, April 19, 1928 Franziska "Frantiska" Chitka (Kubicek) Died at Home of Daughter Linwood, April 24 - Mrs. Frantiska Kubicek passed away on Thursday, April 19 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anton Travnicek, where she had been making her home the past few years. She had been in failing health for a month. She was past 74 years of age. Mrs. Kubicek was born in Bohemia March 2, 1854, and was married to Karel Kubicek in 1875. They came to America in 1880, settling in Saunders county. Mr. Kubicek died in 1885, leaving his wife and five small children, the oldest child being nine years of age at that time. When the children grew up and had homes of their own, she made her home with them. She is survived by her five children, Mrs. Mary Travnicek of Linwood, Mrs. Pauline Buresh of Ulysses, Mrs. Frances Polivka of Brainard, John Kubicek of Shelby and Karel Kubicek of Valparaiso, 38 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one brother, Anton Chytki, of Wagner, S. Dak. All the children were in attendance at the funeral, which was held Saturday afternoon, April 21 at the Anton Travnicek home, Rev. Filipi, of Clarkson officiating. Interment was in the Linwood Hill cemetery. ___ Card of Thanks - We express our sincere thanks to those whose kindness and sympathy assisted us during the illness and at time of the death of our mother, and for the many beautiful floral offerings.
