Children: Isam b.Jan 1, 1835 Narvesta b.Dec. 17, 1836 (Died in infancy) Elizabeth b.Dec. 20, 1838 Little Narvesta b.Oct. 11, 1840 John H. b.July 31, 1842 Jane b.Feb. 27, 1844 (Died in infancy) Dant H. b.June 6, 1845 Sarah L. b.Feb. 25, 1846 Mary Ann b.Dec. 5, 1851 Married: Abt. 1834, Lee Co., Jane and Josiah resided in Claiborne Co., TN till the spring of 1850, at which time they moved with their family, at the same time and in the same manner, with Jane's brother, James C. Hamblen, and Josiah's uncle, Thomas Ramsey to Davis County, Iowa, and later moved to adjoining Appanoose County, IA. Here they resided on a farm. Josiah was also a Methodist preacher. Jane suffered a stroke of paralysis and died from its effects, April 1852. Three years later, in the early part of 1855, Josiah was struck by lightning and killed. Soon after his death, Josiah's brother, William Wheelis, who lived in Decatur Co., IA, came and took the four younger children to his home to reside.
