Bio
John Emil Knapick was the fifth child born to Andrew Joseph and Pauline Baca Knapick in Fayette County, Texas near the town of Fayetteville, possibly in the Warrenton Community. John was married to Mary Josephine Schindler on June 24, 1907 in Lavaca County, Texas by L.A. Meiners, a Justice of the Peace. John and Mary had ten sons. One was stillborn Oct. 10, 1912 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas and one son, Albert Frank died at the age of four from a stomach tumor. He is buried in West Columbia, Texas. John and Mary reared eight boys - 1)Andrew Joseph; 2) Joseph Rudolph; 3) Rudolph Joseph; 4) John Emil; 5) Frank Albert; 6) William Chester; 7) Henry August; 8)Peter Joseph. John Emil was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Houston Chapter No. 803 Knights of Columbus. He was a well-known building engineer. John died March 19, 1946 of heart failure in Houston, Texas and is buried in the Garden of Gethsemani at Forest Park Cemetery on Lawndale in Houston, Texas. He had been a resident of Houston for 23 years prior to his death.
