Married Oct. 16, 1964. Clarence Earl Hawthorne passed away early Saturday morning, January 16, 2016, in Georgetown, Texas, at the age of 78 years. Known as C.E. Hawthorne. His family called him Earl. Born in Georgetown, Texas, on January 4, 1938, to James Fletcher Hawthorne and Vivian (Hall) Hawthorne. Earl moved to Jarrell as a young child. After graduating from Jarrell High School, he worked as a lineman for Southwestern Bell. Earl was drafted in 1960, serving in the Army and then the Army Reserve until 1966. He attended the Methodist Church as a youth and the First Baptist Church of Jarrell in his later years. One of his favorite things to do was to drive around the Jarrell countryside. He enjoyed a lovely 50th wedding anniversary party that his daughters gave the couple in 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, James Hawthorne and William Hawthorne; his sisters, Estelle Hurt and Ima Jewel Tucker; and his grandson, Jared Hamblen*. (*genetically a step-grandchild, heartwise full and beloved grandchild.) Survivors are his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
