Rachel Virginia Rader July 28, 1917 - December 25, 2008 Rader, Rachel Virginia, 91, of Xenia, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Thursday, December 25, 2008. She was born on July 28, 1917, daughter of Edwin Charles and Mayme Sophia (Cassutt)Andregg. She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 47 years, Donald E.Rader (1989); son, Donald E. Rader Jr.(2004); 2 brothers, Otto and Edwin Andregg; 1 sister, Violet Andregg; and son-in-law, Bob Benedict. She is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Thomas M. and Marietta Rader; 3 daughters and son-in-laws, Sheran Ane Benedict, Keran Dian and Gerald Hovind and Virginia Kay Dennehy; 2 sisters, Blanche Felder and Roselle Andregg; 9 grandchildren, Kenny, Kaye, Laura, Tim, Diana, Derek, Heather, Amenta, and Joel; and 11 great-grandchildren. Rachel was a lifelong memberof St. Bridged Catholic Church and will always be remembered as a greatmother and grandmother. According to her grandchildren, she was the greatest woman who ever lived. Rachel graduated from St. Francis HospitalSchool of Nursing in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, and had over 40 years of nursing before she retired in 1976. She worked for Greene Memorial Hospital for 22 years, and was a WWII veteran in the Army Nurse Corp. She has been a resident of Greene county since 1945 and had a great passion for sewing, painting, drawing, and fishing. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 2:15 PM at Massie Creek Cemetery, Cedarville. Father Kent officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family atwww.jacksonlytle.com
