Bio

Mrs. Morris Dies At 104 Mrs. Martha Morris, 104, of the Villa del Sol Nursing Care Center, died Saturday afternoon. Born Sept. 23, 1873, at Dunbar, she was the daughter of Michael and Olena Thorson Bryngelson. She attended school and grew to womanhood in the area of her birth. In 1894 she was married in O'Brien County to Blom 0. Bryngelson. After this time they made their home in Ida, Brewster and O'Brien Counties before moving to South Dakota. Mrs. Morris has made her home in this area since 1936. In 1947 she was married to Manford Morris at Wichita, Kan. Mr. Morris preceded her in death in 1954. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were two sons, three sisters and four brothers. Surviving are five daughters and a son, Mrs. Alice Gartzka of Watertown, S.D., , Myrtle (Mrs. Clifford) Olson of Marshalltown, Inez (Mrs. Walter) Behlings of Perry, Florence ( Mrs. Ben ) Hegland of Marshalltown, Della (Mrs. Rolland) Hilleman of Madison, Minn., and Clifford Bryngelson of Marshalltown. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and a host of great-grand-children and great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Ida Tjossem of Sandburn. Services will be from the First Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Donald Gerkin officiating. Burial will be in the Stavanger Cemetery.
