Funeral services for Arnold C. Pierce Sr., age 80, of Tyler, will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Pastor Glen Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Mr. Pierce died Dec. 18, 2009, at his residence. He was born Feb. 4, 1929, in Percilla to the late Lester and Verna Pierce. He was self-employed as a home builder and had served in the Army. He was a member of Christian Biblical Church of God and had lived in Tyler for over 60 years. He was preceded in death by wife of 53 years, Marjo Pierce in 2008. Mr. Pierce is survived by three sons, Ronald Quin Pierce of Canton, Terry Lee Pierce and Kyle Dee Pierce, both of Tyler; two daughters, Pamala Marie Pierce Kottke of Leslie, Ark., and Kay Vee Pierce Ragan of Mesquite; brother, Wallace Pierce of Tyler; sister, Mildred Ingram of Palestine; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Monty Allen, Cole Alt, Paul Pierce, Tony Pierce, Troy Ingram and Ian Ragan. Honorary pallbearer is Christopher Ragan. The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Christian Biblical Church of God, P.O. Box 1442, Hollister, Calif. 95024-1442.
