Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Thursday, June 24, 1943 Taylor, Neb., June 24 (Special)--Mrs. Frances Clements of Kent was informed by the U.S. war department that her son Robert Rollin Clements was killed in action May 29, "somewhere in Northwestern American territory." Robert is the second Loup county boy to give his life in defense of his country. Last September (1942) Clive Raish was accidentally killed in training camp; however Robert is the country's first war combat casualty.
