He was the County Agricultural agent in Baird, Callahan County, Texas. He enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a SPECIAL RANGER on May 29, 1917, thru December 1917, attached to Co. C. He had been a school teacher up until 1917. He was an Agricultural agent with Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College. During WWI, Roger was a Texas Sgt. 341 Bakery Co. OMC WWI. In 1920, he was a real estate agent in Callahan County. John Quincy Evans died December 22, 1965, in Baird, Callahan County, and is buried in Ross Cemetery, in Baird.
