Bio

Mary Isabell Jeffres was born October 7 1917 in Beatrice NE to Jacob Earl and Mary Grace Jeffres who were sharecroppers. Isabell was the 2nd of 7 children. She married Clyde Gentle who joined the Navy when WWII broke out. She followed him to CA, living close to his base, and had their only child, Mary Lynn Gentle there. A few years after Clyde came home, he was killed in a car crash. She later married Raymond E. Manning, son of Dr. and Mrs. Earl Manning. Isabell worked in accounting for Trans World Airlines. She enjoyed traveling, baking, reading, and playing cards. She died of complications from Alzheimers.
