Bio

married, son of Alonzo Wardlow and Mary Jane Wardlow, husband of Clara Wardlow d. cert 5042 ------------ Guy Ellsworth Wardlow was born July 5, 1892 in Schuyler County, Missouri, near Lancaster and passed away March 7, 1964 at a hospital in Kirksville, Missouri. He was the son of Alonzo and Mary Jane Wardlow. He lived his entire life in Schuyler County. He was a farmer, trucker and drove the Lancaster school bus for a number of years. He leaves the widow, Clara of Lancaster, two children by a former marriage, Woodrow Wardlow of Lancaster and Eula Mae Luhr of Quincy, Illinois. Also four grandchildren and three great grandchildren and four step children; Earl Maize of Lancaster, Opal Demeter and Willard Maize of California and Raymond Maize of Texas. Two sisters, Altha Thomas of New Castle, Wyo. and Gladys Shaw of Imperial, Nebr. Also an aged aunt, Mrs. Eva Liming of Middletown, Ohio; nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one sister. Guy was liked by all who knew him and was always ready to give a helping hand when needed. He was a lover of children and always enjoyed having them around him. He had spent the last two years in a nursing home at Greentop, Mo., having suffered from several strokes. He grew worse and was taken to Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville two weeks ago. Funeral services were held at Norman's Funeral Chapel in Lancaster. The services were conducted by Rev. Ben Bradbury. Organist Maureen Watkins, Soloist, James Russell. Selections were: "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Casket bearers were: Noel Brunk, Joe Casteel, Warren Vandike, Kenneth Whitacre, Johnny Vandike and Thurman Casteel. Interment was in Arni Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Norman's.
