SHAMROCK - Julia Buckingham, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, in Wheeler. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Church of Christ with Max McLendon and Cottie Tarbet officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Julia Francis Buckingham was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Anderson County to Walter and Melissa Jenkins Ellerbee. She married Winfred Buckingham on June 25, 1938, in Sayre, Okla. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2000. Winfred and Julia lived in the Twitty community, and she moved to Shamrock after his death. Julia was a Church of Christ member in Shamrock, and her church and her family were her first love. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Roy Patterson and Sam Ellerbee. Survivors include two sons, Billy and Carolyn Buckingham of Wheeler and Bob and Dianne Buckingham of Twitty; four grandchildren, Lacy and Jack Britten of Colleyville, Brett and Tara Buckingham of Kelton, Bobby Buckingham of Alva, Okla., and Danny and Jessi Buckingham of Amarillo; five great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
