The Oregonian (Portland, OR) February 13, 1990 ELLEN MAY REED A service for Ellen May Reed of Forest Grove will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Forest Grove Memorial Chapel. She died in a Forest Grove care center Thursday of causes related to age. She was 85. Mrs. Reed, whose maiden name was VanGreen, was born on Nov. 1, 1904, in Callaway, Neb., and had lived in Forest Grove since 1944. She had worked at Hudson House Cannery for two years and was a member of the Forest Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church. In 1927 she married Frank R. Reed. He died in 1988. Surviving are sons, Kenneth of Beaverton, Harold of Des Moines, Wash., Richard of Portland and Donald of Hillsboro; daughters, Marjorie Kennedy of Hillsboro and Mary Ellen Louise VanDomelen of Cornelius; a brother, Charles VanGreen of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Frances Alcorn of Lincoln, Neb., and Florence Sunderlin and Mabel Gilming, both of Salem; 27 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Private entombment will be in Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove.
