Wife of W.H. Cheek Married 12/15/1970 ------------------------- Vivian Cheek, 95, of Stamford, passed away Friday, December 22, 2016 in Stamford. Funeral services are currently pending with Kinney Underwood Funeral Home ------------------------- Obituary for Vivian Cheek Vivian Cheek, 95, faithful servant to her Lord, went to her heavenly home on Friday, December 23, 2016. Funeral services honoring Vivian will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Grand officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery in the New Hope Community. Vivian was born November 18, 1921 in Larue, Texas, the daughter of the late Robert Wesley (R.W.) and Alyce Myrtle (York) Blankenship. She married M.C. Bell and later married W.H. Cheek. Vivian lived in Stamford, Haskell, Stephenville, Abilene and Grand Prairie. She was a seamstress at L.S. Lankford and was employed at Stamford Memorial Hospital for many years. She loved to fish, sew, watch the Dallas Cowboys and cooked a mean Jeff Davis pie. Vivian was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Stamford. Preceding Vivian in death were her parents; her husbands; and two sisters, Fannie Butler and Jessie Byrd. Vivian is survived by her sister and brother in law, Norma and Robert McLellan of Stamford; her late husband's daughters, Janis and Dorothy; and numerous great nieces and nephews. contributed by Don Haynes - December, 2016 (Middle section E. side of cemetery)
