Bio
Shellie Noel Lindsey, 89, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory after an extended illness. He was born July 19, 1917, in Itawamba County to the late William Henry and Ada Loden Lindsey. He lived in the Splunge community for 38 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a Baptist. He was self-employed in construction and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and doing things with his grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Lewis Coker officiating. Burial will be in the Lann Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Jewel Lindsey Faulkner and her husband, Jolly, and Judy Lindsey Weaver, all of Splunge; one sister, Nona Ree Shumpert of Hiram, Ga.; five grandchildren, Sandra Dewberry and her husband, Ken, of Brandon, Mitzy Faulkner Presley and her husband, Rex, Terry Noel Faulkner and his wife, Tammy, Tony Weaver and Barry Faulkner, all of Splunge; 10 great-grandchildren, Lori Leech, Erin Dewberry, Justin Presley, Lindsay Presley, Brett Faulkner, Maci Faulkner, Layne Faulkner, Shayne Faulkner, Kylie Faulkner and Chase Weaver. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Blanche L. Wiygul; and one brother, Cecil Lindsey.
