Obituary Maggie Schaft was born in Schweig Holstein,Germany,May 2,1861.She was united in Marriage to Peter Juhl and came to America on their wedding trip in 1881.They settled in Grand Island.To this union six children were born.Mr Juhl passed away in 1888(1895 correction) after a lingering illness.She was united in marriage to Max Dittmer of Clarks in 1898.To this union three children were born.They came to the farm home at Clark's where they lived until their death.In 1910 they took a trip back to Germany to visit their homeland.Mr Dittmer was also from Germany.Mr Dittmer passed away on the 20th day of August in 1926 after along period of illness. Mrs Dittmer spent an active life.She was always thoughtful of others in times of illness.After Mr Dittmer's passing away she lived alone for a time,until she took her grandson,Francis Bladt,to live with her.He stayed with her until his graduation from school.From that time Lois Randell stayed with her until her death. She enjoyed working among her many flowers and pets and was loved by all who knew her.She enjoyed good health until the last three month's when she became ill and passed away on 23rd day of April at 2:00am,at her home at the age of 89 yrs 11 months and 21 days.She had been cared for by Mrs Hayes Randell thoughout her illness. Preceding her in death besides her husbands were nine children:Minnie Bladt,John Juhl,Mary Smith,Charlie Dittmer,Herman Juhl,Hugo Dittmer,Elmer Juhl,John Dittmer,Meta Mandelkow,and 6 sisters.Survivors are the following Mrs Hayes Randell,Clarks Ne.Mrs Walter Robison,Oelwein Ia.Edward Juhl Genoa Ne. Six Step-children:Herman Dittmer,Avoca Ia.Henry Dittmer Avoca Ia.,Otto Dittmer,Clark's Ne.Mrs. Emma McDowell,Avoca Ia.Mrs Frank Myers Wray Co.Mrs Dora Mustard Clark's.Also 67 grand children,of which 22 served in WW2 ;63 Ggrand children and 6 GGgrand children. Mrs Dittmer was a Gold Star mother of WW1,one son Hans Hugo Dittmer,being killed in that conflict.
