As to the question of how we are sure that Henry Lee and Dorcus Copeland are the parents of these following children, Henry Newton Lee, residence Wayne County, Tennessee, was the executive administrator of Henry Lee's estate when Henry died. The document is dated April 16, 1874. Henry Lee was probably son of John (father John Lee Sr.) and Mary Lee, Washington County, Virginia. Henry and Dorcus moved to Wayne County, Tennessee about 1826 near the Natchez Trace, in Lee Hollow-now Kilburn Hollow, on the Lee Branch. Henry Newton Lee, resident of Wayne County, Tennessee. [Assuming this is the same Henry Lee, the following military record exists]: Henry Lee, Private in Capt. James Turner's Tennessee Militia, War of 1812. Enlisted Oct. 1814 in Fayetteville, Tennessee and was discharged 1815. Applied for pension on Sept. 18, 1871, Wayne County, Tennessee. Henry Lee married Dorcus Copeland in Sept. of 1808 in Overton County Tennessee and received 2 BLWs previous to application.
