ROLAND The Rev. Raymond Ralph Howard, 86, of Roland died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002 in Fort Smith. He was born Oct. 14, 1915, in Branch. He was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roland. He pastored four churches during his 48 years of ministry Fort Coffee Missionary Baptist Church in Spiro, Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Van Buren and Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He served as program chairman, superintendent and teacher at Oklahoma State Camp at Bogg Springs Baptist Camp in Grannis from 1964 to 1997 and as moderator of Oklahoma State Assembly of Missionary Baptist Chruch from 1986 to 1988. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Roland. He is survived by his wife, Vermell; a son, Charles Howard of Roland; a sister, Wanda Mathews of Branch; and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Glen Davis, Myron Lockwood, Jack Barnes, Jack Martin, Bill Rogers and Charles Day. Times Record Online
