HEREFORD - Alma M. Inman, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010. Celebration of Life services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Christian Assembly Church in Hereford with the Rev. Milford Grisham officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Cemetery by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home. Alma May Shelton was born May 31, 1917, in Atoka, Okla., to William Orville Shelton and Bessie May Stacy Shelton. Alma had lived in Hereford for 68 years. She married Thomas "Woody" Woodrow Inman in 1946. Alma was a bookkeeper for Shelton Tire Exchange in Hereford for 30 years and for Butler Oswalt Division in Hereford for 18 years. She was a deaconess in the Christian Assembly Church. Alma played the piano at the church until she was 89 years old. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; her parents; a sister, Thelma Bailey; and a daughter, Nita Rhae Smith. Survivors include a son, Tommy Warren Inman of Hereford; two daughters, Sharon Slaughter of Lenexa, Kan., and Sheila Brannon of Hereford; one sister, Coelita Eldridge of Clovis, N.M.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
