Bio
Son of Gerhard & Lucy (Loseke) Frese. Lawrence attended Christ Lutheran Grade School and Kramer High School in Columbus. Lawrence entered the U.S. Army in January of 1945, and served during WW II. He served time in the Philippines, Japan, and Army of Occupation in Korea. Lawrence was honorably discharged in December of 1946. On November 20, 1953, Lawrence married Elizabeth Brown at the Federated Church in Columbus. They farmed north of Columbus all their lives until Lawrence retired in 1995 when they moved into Columbus. Lawrence was very active in St. John's Lutheran Church. He served as an Elder, on the Church Council, the School Board, and was Chairman of the Congregation. He was a member of the Columbus American Legion Post 84 and the Columbus VFW Post 3704.
