HALLETTSVILLE – Louis J. Kolos, 75, of Hallettsville died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996. He was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Lavaca County to the late Steve and Louise Roznovsky Kolos. He was a veteran of World War II. He married the late Lucille Pechacek Kolos on Aug. 26, 1948, in Hallettsville and Billy Appelt Kolos on Jan. 30, 1972. Mr. Kolos was a member of VFW and Sacred Heart Church in Hallettsville. Survivors: wife; daughters, Louise Kolos, Jo Ann Byrn and Jean Mitchell, all of Hallettsville, Katherine Plant of Bastrop, Elizabeth Scribrer of Tupelo, Miss., and Linda Matlage of Austin; stepdaughters, Dorothy Bonoit and Doris Kalmus, both of Sugar Land, Betty Appelt of Bastrop and Helen Spies and Linda Haas, both of Hallettsville; sons, Louis Kolos Jr., and Victor Kolos, both of Hallettsville; stepson, Frankie Appelt of Hallettsville; brother, Jim Kolos of Wyoming; 19 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren and seven great-stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death by: first wife, on Oct. 3, 1963; daughter, Rosalie Ann Kolos; three sisters; four brothers and one grandson. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today at Kubena Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, the Rev. John Peters officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at Geiger Cemetery under the auspices of the American Legion and VFW. **Note his second life Wilhelmina (Billie) died in 1999
