Rites Held Here Tuesday For Audley H. Garrett Funeral services for Audley H. (Jack) Garrett, 70, retired civil service employee from communications at the Amarillo Air Force Base, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, in the Memphis First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Elvis Pitts, pastor of the Estelline Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home. Mr. Garrett was a brother of Mrs. J.O. Wyatt of Carey. He was born August 29, 1899, in Wolfe City and passed away Sunday morning in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. Mr. Garrett was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include: his wife, Ada; stepmother, Mrs. Pearl Garrett of Wolfe City; four sisters, in addition to Mrs. Wyatt, Mrs. Bud Tucker of Denison, Mrs. Billy Monroe, Wolfe City, Mrs. Ida Landers of Lubbock and Mrs. Buster Smith of Dallas; and four brothers, T.C. of Denison, Y.J. of Lynn,Mass., and J.W. and Don, both of Dallas. Pall bearers were J. L. Garrett, Ray Wyatt, Tom J. Landers, Jerry Don Glover, Royce Tucker and W.H. Spruill.
