Son of Joseph R. & Gustie Ann (Rezac) Voboril. Joseph graduated from Weston High School in 1942. Following graduation, he worked for Weston Grain Stock Co. In February, 1943, he entered the United States Military at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE. He began his service in World War II, as a member of the Infantry, 86th Division Army. After attending Air Corps Gunnery School in Las Vegas, NV, and receiving his wings in 1943, he served with the 8th Air Force – Debach England. He was part of the 863 Bomber Squad/493 Bomber Group. He earned military honors including the Air Force Medal – Good Conduct and Battle Star which he received in Nazi Germany. He was discharged in November of 1945 after earning the rank of Sergeant First Class, Airplane Armorer Gunner. After his military tour, he worked at the Mead Ordnance Plant, then continued his Civil Service work with the United States Postal Service for 35 years, retiring in February, 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and second wife. He is survived by his sons Jerry (Linda) Voboril, Wahoo, Joseph S. (Shelley) Voboril, Portland, OR; daughter Judy (Terry) Macholan, Lincoln; grandchildren Andrea Voboril-Beaver, Ashlee Voboril, Aubrey Voboril, Joey Voboril, Katie Voboril, Scott and Ross Macholan; step-grandson Timothy Nordstrom, step-granddaughters Whitney Nordstrom-Vanek, Paige Fritz; 2 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Bessie Voboril.
