Bio

Mrs. Rainey passed away Monday afternoon at Ennis care Center in Ennis. She was born one of 6 children to Charles and Mary (Beckner) Berrier in Maypearl. She graduated from Maypearl High School and moved to Dallas in 1934 where she was employed with Sanger Bro. Dept. Store. She married George Ellerman in 1943 at Bethel. He preceded her in death in 1945. She was then employed as an accountant with Safeway until her retirement in 1980. She married Deon Rainey in 1970 in Dallas. He passed away in 1990. Mrs. Rainey was a member of Grand Ave. Baptist Church in Dallas, but attended First Baptist Church and the Deborah Sunday School since she moved to Waxahachie in 1991. Mrs. Rainey is survived by one brother, Truitt Berrier and his wife Lorene of Waxahachie, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Claude Berrier, and three sisters, Ola Stevenson, Inez Darby and Helen Wheatley. Interment was at the Bethel Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Hitt officiating.
