Bio

Son of Stanley and Katherine (Kuta) Nosal. He was raised in Ravenna and graduated from Kearney High School. LaVern served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from October 1944-July 1946. On April 17, 1947, he was united in marriage to Betty Stueffer at St. Anthony Church in Columbus. LaVern was a long time truckdriver in transportation affiliated with Clark Brothers Transfer for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church where he served as an usher and hour of adoration. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. LaVern enjoyed Nebraska football, playing cards, gardening and afternoon coffee and conversation. He is survived by his wife, Betty Nosal, of Columbus; son, Terry (Janice) Nosal, of Fremont; son, Steve Nosal, of Lincoln; daughter, Nancy (Gaylen) Kamrath, of Rising City; daughter, Susan (Ray) Steffel, of Beaver Lake; daughter, Kathy (Tom) Rosenthal, of Elkhorn; son, Michael (Janelle) Nosal, of Lincoln; daughter, Julie Travis and significant other Duain Colburn, of Lincoln; son, Jeff (Cori) Nosal, of Greeley, Colo.; son-in-law, David Chen, of Austin, Texas; sister, Rachel Sommers, of Chula Vista, Calif.; sister-in-law, Marie Nosal, of Wisner; sister-in-law, Pat Nosal, of Lincoln; 27 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by, father, Stanley Nosal; mother, Katherine Nosal; daughter, Mary (Nosal) Chen; daughter-in-law, Becky Bell; sister, Genevieve Beavers; brother, Dennis Nosal; sister, Rita Nosal and brother, Johnny Nosal.
