Marietta, OK — .Services for Noble Ruth Bond of Marietta, Okla., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009, in Marietta's Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta. Mrs. Bond was born April 21, 1921, in Love County, Okla., the daughter of M.H. and Lola Moore Shurbet. She passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 88. A resident of Love County all of her life, Mrs. Bond was a homemaker. She and Jess Otho Bond were married by Rev. W.P. Rowland in Marietta on September 18, 1937, and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2005. As a very active member of the Eastside Baptist Church, Mrs. Bond taught the Beginners Sunday School Class for many years, sang in the Church Choir, in addition to cooking at Falls Creek Baptist Assembly for numerous years. She was an excellent seamstress as well as being a good cook and cake decorator. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Bond of Marietta and Ron and Georgia Bond of Ardmore, Okla.; sister-in-law, Nelda Shurbet of Greenville, Okla.; two grandchildren, Kim Behrens and husband, Ronnie of Madill, Okla., and Tim Bond and wife, Miaya of Sanger, Texas; three great-grandchildren, J.J. Gray of Denton, Texas, and Veronica Clement and husband, Scott, and Kyla Selvy and husband, Chad, all of Madill; and three great-great-grandchildren, Ali Selvy, Cole Selvy and Luke Clement. Serving as bearers will be J.H. Hayes, Joe Don Jones, Mark Bond, Rick Brannan, Leo Douglas, and Don Bennett. Honorary bearers are Dr. Tom O'Connor, Richard Quisenberry, Edward "Hoot" Norris, Jim Patton, Marjorie Hobbs, Carol Wayne Flanagan, Alice Jean Flanagan, Charlsie Hefley, Bob Geurin, Michelle Porter and Butch Sparks. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Girls' Home at Madill c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home 100 E.
