Floyce R. Evans LAUREL — Floyce R. Evans Floyce R. Evans, 89, of Hattiesburg, formerly of Ellisville, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at New Hope Baptist Church with burial in New Hope Cemetery. Revs. W. A. Fordham and Keith Thompson will officiate. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. prior to the service. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church. She worked as a seamstress for a number of years with Movie Star and also as a clerk for Woods Dry Goods. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Evans; infant daughter, Sharon Sue Evans; brother, Glenn Stennett; and parents, Barna and Wilma Beech Stennett. Survivors include two sons, Gale Evans and wife Beverly of Northport, Ala., and Jobie Evans and wife Candace of Ellisville; six grandchildren, Webb Evans, Stacy Junkin, Corey Evans, Aaron Evans, Ryan Evans and Haley Evans, eight great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Stennett of Hattiesburg; and four sisters, Dee Dee Koehler, Pauline Dobson, Jean Wood, and Helen Anderson, all of Ellisville. Pallbearers are Webb Evans, Corey Evans, Aaron Evans, Ryan Evans, Greg Junkin and Steve Cook. Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. Thursday at Memory Chapel of Laurel, which is in charge of the arrangements.
