Bio

Earl Ray Porterfield, 69, of Waco, died Tuesday, June 8, 1993, in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 10, at Rosemound Cemetery with Douglas LeCroy officiating. Earl was born in Waco, Texas, to the late John Earl and Gladys Louise Porterfield. He attended schools in Waco and graduated from Waco High School in 1941. Earl also attended Baylor University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Earl married Ella Jane Morris on april 25, 1946, in Jackson, Mississippi. Earl was the owner and operator of Waco Bookkeeping Service in Waco. He was an active member and deacon of Columbus Avenue Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, on September 25, 1980. Survivors include son, John David Porterfield, of Austin; two grandchildren; sisters, Louise Belville and Jo Ann Kolar, both of Waco; nephew, Keith Belville, of Waco; other relatives and many friends.
