Bio

Nadean Bates Goar, 75, of Lake Bates Road, died Wednesday at the Decatur General Hospital. The funeral will be Friday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Mrs. Goar was born Sep. 2, 1922, in Limestone County. She was a member of the Seven Mile Post Road Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Gates Adams. Survivors include her husband, Charlie Goar of Athens; a daughter, Oma Lou White of Athens; a step-daughter, Judy Lane of Decatur; a step-son, Gaylon Goar of Houston; three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
