Arlen Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of White Oaks, Oakdale. Shaffett, 76, of Pitkin, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, in Beaure-gard Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Pitkin. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW of Lees-ville and a member of Marlow Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Shaffett. Survivors include two sons, Dewayne Shaffett and Wilmer Shaffett, both of Pitkin; one daughter, Bonnie Johnson of Pit-kin; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Bob Saun-ders, Glen Johnson, Craig Fonte-not, Derek Saunders, Dale McMullen, Ronnie Young and Lee L. Strother.
