Gladean Sherron, 93, of Amarillo died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Alan Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Gladean was born Dec. 6, 1915, in Lampasas to Charles Sumner and Blanche Gertrude Jones. She married Leon Sherron in 1932 in Morton and was married until he preceded her in death in 1983. They moved to Amarillo in 1942. She was a bookkeeper for Hunter Hospital Supply, Atlas Portable Buildings and Panhandle Steel Buildings. She volunteered at Ronald McDonald House for many years. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joe Lynn Sherron; a sister, Thelma Wolfenberger; and three brothers, Rodney, Cecil and Marvin Jones. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Peggy Sherron of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Misty Long and husband Corky and Melody Mellberg and husband Gary, all of Levelland; a brother, Buster Jones of Portales, N.M.; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
