EVELYN JOYCE PEAKE PFEIFFER 1926 - 2009 Evelyn Joyce Peake Pfeiffer (83), wife of the late Herbert J. Pfeiffer, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Joyce was born on June 12, 1926 in Pensacola, FL. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Santa Rosa Women's Club, Holly Garden Club, Greater Gulf Breeze Interfaith Council and was a Eucharistic Minister of St. Anne's Catholic Church of Gulf Breeze. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis B. and Bertha Peake; and son, Robert (Bob) J. Pfeiffer. Joyce leaves behind her sons, Ronald J. Pfeiffer (Carol), Richard J. Pfeiffer (Janice), Tom J. Pfeiffer (Brigitte Mars), Stephen J. Pfeiffer, and David J. Pfeiffer (Jacquie); daughter, Kathryn Kea (Randy); daughter-in-law, Kay Pfeiffer; and a special family member, Jessica Hood; sisters, Betty Kelly and Sue Jarrell; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2009 at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Father Joe Fowler celebrant assisted by Monsignor Luke Hunt. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Philip, Hunter, James and Hunter Philip Pfeiffer, Bill Scheller and Dave Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be John Crilly, John McLendon, Dick Gonzalez, Chuck Knapp, and Jeff Mason. FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 6 at Faith Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. with prayer service at 5:15 p.m. conducted by Deacon Richard Lurton. A special thank you goes to the staff at Health Center of Pensacola, Barbara Johnson, ARNP and Covenant Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice.
