Co G 2nd Texas Infantry CSA Ft Worth Gazette July 26, 1894 Caldwell, Texas, July 24.- After a long and very painful illness Mr. Alva Loden died this morning at his residence near town, aged 45 years. Mr. Loden was a native of this county and was sheriff of this county from 1880 to 1882. At the time of his death he was manager of the county farm. He was a man of very quiet, unassuming character, and was universally esteemed for his kindness of disposition. He leaves a wife and six small children to mourn his untimely departure.
