Bio

Georgia Ella Sikes, age 99 died November 29, 2009 after an illness. Mrs. Sikes was born on June 24, 1910 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a life member of the Order of The Eastern Star in Hemphill, Texas, where she lived since 1970 after retiring with her late husband, John Andrew Sikes. Georgia loved her church, her lodge, fishing, golf and football. Georgia worked with the Rainbow Girls and the Eastern Star in Orange, Texas, before moving to Hemphill. She is survived by her daughter and husband Gail and Reggie Ebner of Aiken, South Carolina, a step-son, Andrew L. Sikes of Hull, Texas and one sister Nell Tibbits Greener of Ohio, seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her step-son, Lawrence Sikes. Visitation will be from 4pm until 7pm in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street Hemphill, Texas, Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Funeral Services will be 1pm Wednesday December 2, 2009 in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Joel Halbert Cemetery, Milam, Texas.
