By Deseret News Mable Wagstaff Smith, 83, died October 8, 1997 of injuries suffered in an auto accident in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born May 4, 1914, in American Fork, Utah to Martha Ellen Nellie Hawkins Wagstaff Snow and Robert Amos Wagstaff. Married Edwin Virgil Smith June 11, 1932. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She was an active member of the 2nd Ward in American Fork. She was a homemaker and worked along side of her husband on their farm for many years. She moved to SLC after the death of her husband in 1994 and was an active member of the 18th Ward in SLC, Utah.Preceded in death by her husband; sister, Elizabeth Wagstaff Alsop; two brothers, Ruben and Clyde Wagstaff; and a great grandson, Trent Michael Smith. Survived by her son, Edwin B. and wife Jean Hymas Smith; daughter, Jeannine Clark; grandchildren, David Judd, Brent Clark, Michael Smith, Ronald Smith, Richard Smith, Scot Smith, all of Salt Lake City; sister, Mae Wagstaff Sparger Paine, Virginia; brother, Keith and his wife LaDean Wagstaff; sister-in-law, Theda Wagstaff, all of American Fork, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 13, 1997, at 11 a.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, 118 East Main, Lehi, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial in the American Fork City Cemetery.
