Bio

Edwin C. Aken, 86, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Granbury. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home. Mr. Aken was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Rotan. He married Eva Dea Sartor, Nov. 30, 1945, in Eagle Lake. He was a graduate of Rotan High School and Texas Tech University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Aken was a member of the Granbury First United Methodist Church, a member of the Granbury Lodge of the Masons, the Shriners and the Scottish Rite. He was listed in Who's Who of Corrosion Engineers. He loved his horse and always fed the deer. He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Aken. Survivors: Loving companion, Wanda Langston of Granbury; sons, David Aken and wife, Victoria, of Forney, Jim Aken and wife, Cynthia, of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Karl Aken, Toni Aken; great-grandchildren, Macie and Faith; sister, Jesalea Wallace of Cotton Valley, Calif.; and great neighbors, Tom and Susan Younk of Granbury.
