Bio
Daughter of William & Evangeline (Pariset) Burkey. As a young girl, Marge attended Milford Public Schools and later moved to Lincoln where she became a 1949 graduate of Lincoln High School. On September 2, 1952, she was united in marriage to John C. Danekas in Lincoln, Nebraska and to this union three children were born, son, John and daughters, Judy and Cheryl. Together they lived in Milford where Marge was a loving mother and wife and helped Jack on the farm. Marge also was employed at the Milford High School as an administrative assistant, and the ESU #6 of Milford where she was the financial manager for many years. She was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and was a long-time Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of the Milford American Legion Auxilary and served as president on several occasions. Marge enjoyed knitting and sewing and was an avid reader. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Judy Dirckx, Brooklyn Park, MN and Cheryl & Justin Gragg of Huntsville, AL, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Danekas, Liberal, KS, sister & brother-in-law, Vyral & James Brown, of Willits, CA, brothers & sister-in-law, Harry & Sharlet Burkey, & Steve Burkey, all of Lincoln, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John "Jack" in 1997 and her son, John, in 1999.
