The Remains of Mrs. Louis Rasmussen Laid to Rest in Pleasanton Cemetery Mrs. Rasmussen died Monday, March 8 shortly after midnight at her home north of Pleasanton, Nebraska, being 55 years, 11 months, 7 days of age. Mary Hansen Rasmussen had suffered several weeks with asthma and heart trouble, becoming unconscious Saturday evening, in which state she remained most of the time, until death. She was surrounded by her family until the last. No farewell was spoken by her, to the sadness of husband and children, before she passed beyond. Services were lead by Reverend Giles and singing was provided by the Pleasanton choir for the March 9 service held at the home at two o'clock p.m. where many gathered to pay their last tribute to the peaceful dead. Mr. Grammer having charge of the remains. Pallbearers: Mr. Bomeke, H. Munster, G. Tisdale, C. Tisdale, Joe Dusek and Jim Dusek. Mrs. Mary (Louis) Hansen Rasmussen was born April 2, 1864, in Denmark. She was the daughter of Hans and Anna Buntzen Hansen and came to the united States in 1872 at the age of eight years and married Peter Rasmussen, Minde, Nebraska, August 14, 1887. To this union were born three children, one boy dying at the age of two months. Two girls are still living, Mrs. Anna (William) Zimmer, and Mrs. Mabel (Harry) Deets. She lost her husband in April 1891, left for Illinois and returned to Nebraska in 1892. On March 18, 1893 was married to Louis Rasmussen. To this union were born seven children, all living. Mrs. Clara (Frank) Bomeke, Mrs. Sophia (Julius) Seifert, Bert Rasmussen, and Mrs. Hazel (Edward) Hughes. Dora, Martha and George are still at home with their father.
