Bio

Jack Bone, 76, of McGregor, Texas, passed from this life, Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, with his devoted family by his side. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, with David Echols and Pat Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cole Funeral Home. Jack Eugenen was born in South Bosque, Texas, one of four children of the late Melvin and Ruby Virginia (Boling) Bone and attended school in McGregor. On Nov. 4, 1950, he married the former Doris Lee Cummings in McGregor. Jack was in the insurance business for over 40 years and owned Jack Bone Insurance Agency when he retired in 2007. He was a devoted Christian and a member of the Moody Church of Christ where he was an elder and taught in the Adult Sunday School Class. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling in his motor home and spending time with his family. Preceding him in death was a brother, Wayne Bone. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Doris Bone; son, Terry Bone and wife, Karol, of Rockport; daughters, Brenda Manthei and husband, Gary, of Hewitt, and Lisa Bone, of McGregor; grandchildren, Hollie Johnson and husband, Gerald, of McGregor, and Lance Dodge and wife, Megan, of McGregor; great-grandchildren, Cara and Malorie Boniface, Ainslie, Bailey, and Caleb Lindsey, Kortlyn Dodge, Sadler Bailey, Kaden Dodge, Garron and Libbie Johnson and Kwest Dodge, all of McGregor; brother, James Bone and wife, Ann, of McGregor; sister, Joan Summers and husband, Bobby, of Corpus Christi; aunt, Linnie Dietzman, of McGregor; and several nieces and nephews.
