MIDLAND REPORTER-TELEGRAM MARCH 2, 2007 MIDLAND, TEXAS Eula Evelyn Calhoun of Goodman, Missouri, homemaker and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Monday, February 26, 2007, in a Neosho hospital. She was 86. She was born June 5, 1920 in Savanna, Oklahoma, the eighth of nine children born to George Todd and Flora Jane Walker Hardin. Her family came to Midland in 1929 by way of covered wagon. She married Carl Wesley "Jack" Calhoun August 15, 1936 in the First Christian parsonage in Midland. They farmed in the Greenwood and Germania communities of Midland County until Easter 1956 when they left dryland farming in drought-ridden West Texas for an irrigated farm in Muleshoe. In 1976 she and Jack moved to Missouri, where they raised cattle. The couple celebrated their 70th anniversary this past summer. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, five sisters and one son, Harold Calhoun who died from leukemia at age 6. She is survived by her husband, Jack Calhoun of Goodman; sons, Rayford Clahoun and his wife, Dolly, Carl Calhoun, Jr. and his wife Cathy, all of Midland; daughter Glenda Mueller, and her husband Jerry, of Stamford, Texas; grandchildren, Vicky Calhoun, Rainy Walker, Christi Franklin, Justin Terrell, Janie Calhoun, Ryan Calhoun, Whitney Calhoun and Brooke Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Jessi Welch, Miles Walker and Maddie Walker and her sister-in-law, Helen Stephens of Crane, Missouri.
