Louis Polansky Passes Away Thursday, Nov. 1 Louis Frank Polansky, a West resident for 35 years, passed away on November 1, 1945. Mr. Polansky was born on April 17, 1875 at Fayetteville, Tex. He spent his boyhood days on his father's farm. After he married, he moved to West in 1910 and has lived here ever since. As their union was not blessed with any children, they adopted their niece, Sophie Velek, in 1912. Mr. Polansky was engaged by J.R. Polasek after he came to West as a plumber and tinner. Later, he bought a partnership with the J.R. Polasek Co. In 1943 he became ill and sold his share of the business. He spent the rest of his days trying to recover his health. Mrs. Polansky died in 1924. Surviving are his niece, Sophie Vrana and her four children. Four sisters, Mrs. R.M. Ingram, Mrs. A. Matcek of San Antonio, Mrs. Adela Strakos of Rowena, and Mrs. Frank Kvapil of Floresville. Three brothers, Adolph Polansky of Caldwell, Henry Polansky of Pleasanton, Diones R. Polansky of Edge Water Park, Miss. Funeral services were held from the residence at 9:30 a.m. and the Catholic Church at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 1945. Father James Polansky officiated. Interment was at the Catholic Cemetery. All of the business houses in West closed Saturday morning in honor of Mr. Polansky. The pallbearers were Messieurs Rudolph Janek, Vaclav Bezdek, Joe Kotrla, Rud. Marak, Ed. Marek and Ben Vanzura.
