Rites Held For Daniel L. Webb, Accident Victim Requiem mass for Daniel Lee Webb, 31, of Route 2, West, was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Rev. Earl Hedberg was celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Webb was killed Friday afternoon when the semi-trailer truck he was driving jumped a guardrail and overturned just south of Hillsboro. Highway Patrol Sgt. R.F. Wallace and Patrolman J.E. Aycock of Hillsboro said the accident occurred about 1:40 p.m. when Webb's semi-trailer truck ran off Interstate 35 at the U.S. 81 bypass south of the city. After the truck left the road, it jumped a ditch and turned over several times, they said. The truck was loaded with meal tubing and was owned by Central Texas Iron Works of Waco. Most of the tubing was scattered along the ditch. The truck-tractor cab was mashed flat by the impact and it took rescue workers about 30 minutes to remove Webb's body. The accident scene has been the location of several truck accidents and fatalities the past several years. Mr. Webb was a native of West and had lived here all his life. He attended West High School. He served in the army from 1960 to 1963. He was employed by Central Texas Iron Works as a truck driver for nine years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milford A. Webb of West; a sister, Mrs. Willie (Eileen) Svrcek of 621 North Sixtieth in Waco; a brother, Ronald Webb of Marshall, and two nieces and two nephews.
