John Vavra Dies Near Here Monday John Vavra, father of Mrs. Frank Girard of near West, died at the Girard home at 10 p.m. Monday, March 11th. He was 74 years of age, and had been in ill health for some time. He was a native of Czechoslovakia, but had lived in the United States for some years. Funeral services were held from the Frank Girard home at 8:30 a.m. and at the Church of the Assumption at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 13th with Father Frank Dobias officiating. Interment was in the Catholic Cemetery near West. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Annie Vavra; four daughters, Mrs. Frank Girard of West, Mrs. Frank Woytek of Robstown, Mrs. Charles Ellevan of Ennis, and Mrs. Adolph Genzer of Robstown; one son, Mr. Rudolph Vavra of Robstown.
