Mrs. Walter (Frances) Vanzura, 81, of 400 South Reagan, died Wednesday afternoon, December 5, 1979, at her home. Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, the Rev. George Doskocil officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mrs. Vanzura was born in Yoakum February 18, 1898, and had lived in West since 1917. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court 829, and the SPJST Lodge No. 54 for 50 years. Mrs. Vanzura was chairman of the Clerical Endowment Fund for 25 years. She married Walter Vanzura July 5, 1917, in Hobson. He died Oct. 24, 1957. Survivors include three sons, V.J. (Larry) Vanzura of Waco, Bill Vanzura of Burleson and Walter L. Vanzura of Route 2, West; a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Taggart of Robinson; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Goetz of San Antonio, Mrs. Lillian Payne and Mrs. Till Russell, both of Kennedy; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Howard Goetz, Walter Goetz, Victor Skrehot, Gregory Taggart, William Vanzura, Linus Lopez.
